Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O’Cha and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received a total of 3.2 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines from the French government today, April 4th, to support the vaccine allocation in the country.
Mr. Thierry Mathou, French Ambassador to Thailand, said during the ceremony that he was pleased and honored to be the representative for the delivery which was a significant sign of good friendship between Thailand and France.
He was confident that the two countries would be able to effectively exchange experiences and knowledge on the management of the Covid-19 situation and the public health regulations. France was also ready to promote bilateral relations especially the exchange of visits between the Thai-French strategic partnership as well as multilateral cooperation through ASEAN-France as the country was a part of the ASEAN Development Partnership.
The Thai Prime Minister then thanked the French government for supporting the Pfizer vaccines for a total of 3,268,620 doses. He promised that the government would use the best benefit out of the vaccines donation and would distribute the vaccine to the people equally.
Both sides also discussed various cooperation issues, including the signing agreement of the Thai-French relations plan (2022-2025) during the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Indo-Pacific Cooperation in Paris which aimed to mutually benefit the economic and social recovery from the Covid-19 situation.
