Thailand National Bus ticket sales suspended until April 30th to help prevent Covid-19 spread

Thailand-

Effective today, March 26th, 2020 to April 30th, 2020 all sales of Bus tickets on the national transport line are suspended, announced the president of the state owned Transport Company, Jirasak Yaovatsakul, this morning.

The Transport company, which provides the majority of the bus transportation across the country, also stated that they are enforcing social distancing measures which means the busses are only 50% full.

He added that all ticket booths are closed so people should not rush to a bus station to attempt to get a ticket.

All those who had purchased tickets earlier will still be able to travel, but will need to wear a mask, go through temperature checks and enforce social distancing.

Private Operators may still be running, but some are also cancelling services during the current Covid-19 crisis. There is no ban on domestic travel, The Pattaya News adds, but it is highly discouraged and people should stay at home unless it is an emergency according to the Thai government.
