Wanted Chonburi armed robber arrested

Chonburi-

A highly wanted armed robber who reportedly chose only female victims has been arrested in Chonburi this weekend.

The arrest follows after the Nongkham Police have received police reports from three female victims recently.

The victims told police that the robber, who was always on a motorbike as a driver, threatened and then robbed them with a knife. He only chose female victims who were walking alone, usually at night. According to Nongkham Police, a significant amount of high value items were stolen but the exact list was not made clear.

Police launched an investigation following the complaints and narrowed their search to identify and arrest a Thai man, Somphon ‘Kong’ Pennoon, 27, in the Chonburi area.

He has been initially charged with armed robbery and illegally carrying a knife in public without reason. He has reportedly admitted all charges.
