Rayong announces one new confirmed case of Covid – 19

The Rayong Public Health Department this afternoon (January 21st) announced one new confirmed cases of Covid – 19 Coronavirus in Rayong.

Rayong now has a total of 572 cases of Covid-19 with one death. The man, aged 45, worked at a high-risk place in Rayong. He had personal health issues disclosed as diabetes and heart disease.

Of those 572, 537 are Thais while 35 are foreigners/migrant workers. Of those 572, 501 are recovered.

The Rayong Governor, Mr. Channa Eiamsang, told the local media today, “Although the situation in Rayong is better we still need to be careful and join hands in various measures strictly such as wearing face masks, washing our hands often, refraining from socializing in big groups as well as using the “Mor Chana” and “Thai Chana” application until the COVID-19 pandemic situation return to normal.”

The Governor did not comment on when any restrictions or closure measures shutting many businesses and restricting travel in Rayong would be lifted. However, he has previously said that the government would meet and discuss these issues at the very end of the month.
