Nong Nooch Gardens installs gigantic new elephant statue as prominent attraction

Pattaya-

A gigantic elephant statue has been placed at Nong Nooch Garden Pattaya with the intention of becoming a prominent new attraction and providing good luck for visitors.

A launching ceremony was held this week at Nong Nooch Garden Pattaya and was led by the Nong Nooch Garden Pattaya manager Mr. Kamphon Satja.

The statue imitates a male elephant and is 10 meters high and 16 meters long and allows tourists and visitors to walk under the elephant.

A religious Buddhist ceremony was conducted in order to bless the elephant statue. Nine live elephants were involved in a parade and later ceremony that was intended to provide good karma to the statue.

Mr. Kamphon told The Pattaya News, “This elephant statue is the biggest in Thailand and is made from cement.”

“Visitors can to go under the elephant’s belly for good luck which is an ancient Thai tradition. Many Thai people believe that the elephant is a lucky animal and that by passing under an elephant they will be provided a bright future.”

The elephant statue is now open to all visitors to the park which despite the current Covid-19 situation in Chonburi and Thailand remains open to visitors.
