Pattaya City to allow limited Beach Road parking for this holiday weekend

Pattaya-

Pattaya City officials, led by Deputy Mayor Ronnakit Ekkasing, held a meeting yesterday to discuss allowing limited Beach Road parking for this four day holiday weekend that starts today.

The four day holiday weekend runs until Monday and is a substitute for the previously cancelled Songkran holidays in April. It is worth noting, however, these are just formal holidays and NOT water play days.

Residents and vendors have been asking for street parking for some time now and the issue has been continually debated among Pattaya City leaders.

For this weekend only, through Monday, a limited single lane of Beach Road will be devoted to street parking for those who wish to go to the beach, City leaders confirmed at the meeting yesterday.

It is important to note this is temporary and the city is working on longer term solutions. They understand the concerns of residents and domestic tourists and why many choose to go to Jomtien due to easier parking and more leniant rules.
