Pattaya City cancels St. Patrick’s Day parade and postpones Tropixx Music Festival out of precaution for Covid-19 Coronavirus

Pattaya-

Pattaya City officials have informed the Pattaya News and posted on their social media channels that the decision has been made to cancel the St. Patrick’s Day parade and postpone the upcoming Tropixx musical festival, both events that appeal to primarily foreign tourists, due to the novel Covid-19 Coronavirus outbreak taking place across the world.

There has been no announcement on the Thai music festival, which is primarily a domestic Thai event, The Glory Muay Thai and taste of Thailand festival or any announcement on Songkran activities, which is traditionally the busiest tourist and holiday period yearly for Thailand.

Pattaya City officials stressed there were no cases of Covid-19 in Pattaya and cleaning measures and cancellations were all preventative and designed to protect locals, expats and tourists.

This would have been the tenth year in a row for the parade. Organizers are dissapointed but understand the importance of ensuring the safety of all.

The Tropixx Music festival, a festival designed around an Ibiza style EDM festival with top DJ’s from around the world, was postponed. Organizers said they are still looking to hold the event in the future when the virus situation has settled.
