Pattaya Police Chief Khemmarin Pissamai spoke with The Pattaya News this morning to give an update on yesterday’s shocking daytime murder of a motorbike taxi driver in South Pattaya.
Mr. Prathum Saartnak, 47, was shot once in the head around noon yesterday behind Pattaya School 8, which is located near the famous Walking Street area. Prathum had just finished dropping off a passenger from the Bali Hai Pier, where he is stationed.

Police Chief Khemmarin released a photo of two prime suspects who he stated were wanted in connection to the murder after reviewing CCTV.
Chief Khemmarin told a Pattaya News reporter that the incident appeared to be well planned, with the suspects tailing the victim and waiting for a customer to move away from the motorbike. Chief Khemmarin said officers are interviewing family and co-workers of Prathum to attempt to determine a possible motive for the crime and further identify the suspects.
Chief Khemmarin said solving the crime was a top priority as the incident took place in a highly trafficked and public area behind a public school. Classes were out of session yesterday for a public holiday so students were not present and did not witness the incident.
The Pattaya News will continue to give updates on this story as they become available.
