Six vehicle accident on Chonburi motorway injures four people

Four people have sustained various injuries in an accident involving a total of six vehicles on Motorway road in Mueang Chonburi this weekend.

Rescue workers were notified of the accident in Na Pa on Sunday afternoon. Highway police, rescue workers and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene shortly after emergency phone calls were made.

Four damaged pickup trucks and two damaged SUVs were found on the road. The accident caused traffic to be congested for over two kilometers.

Four people had sustained multiple injuries and were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

One of the drivers involved in the accident, Mr. Sorawat Sonklin, 48, told The Pattaya News that the vehicles in front of him had immediately stopped and he was unable to avoid the collision. He was uninjured during the accident.

Highway police are conducting a full investigation to find the exact cause of the accident. CCTV will be reviewed and each individual involved in the accident will be interviewed in order to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the pileup.

It took several hours to completely clear the motorway and remove all the damaged vehicles from the road.
