Motorbike driver killed after being hit by foreign driver in Si Racha

A 41 year old Thai woman was killed while driving her motorbike after colliding with a vehicle driven by a Canadian national in Si Racha this week.

Emergency responders were notified of the accident at 10:30 AM Thursday in the Surasak sub-district.

Police and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the motorbike driver, Ms. Jinarat Nadoo, 41, lying on the road in significant pain.

She had sustained severe injuries, according to rescue workers. She was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead despite the best efforts of medical staff.

Inside a SUV nearby rescue staff found a 39 year old male Canadian driver who is a local businessman. His name was withheld pending a complete police investigation. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries according to rescue workers.

Witnesses told police that the SUV collided with the motorbike while taking a curve.

Si Racha police stated that the SUV appeared to be over the proper lane while taking the curve. They would be investigating the incident further and interviewing the foreigner once he had recovered from his injuries. Si Racha police stated to the press that there initial investigation appears to show the foreigner was at fault for the accident and may face legal charges.
