Thai man dies while eating satay pork at Thai restaurant in Na Jomtien

Pattaya Police and emergency officials reported yesterday that a 56 year old Thai man has passed away while eating Satay pork at a noodle shop in Na Jomtien.

The man, Mr. Prasert Jammanee, a driver for a local hotel, was eating with four friends and had finished eating half the satay according to their statement when he suddenly fell forward onto the table unconscious.

His friends immediately called medical assistance, however, the man died at a local hospital.

Police, led by Captain Phakphon Thaninyanathorn, the deputy inspector of Na Jomtien police station, responded to the call and is investigating the incident.

He stated to the local press that the exact cause of the death was not clear, be it perhaps an allergic reaction or a heart attack and that an autopsy will be performed.

The name of the restaurant has been withheld pending the investigation.
