Man injured after being allegedly attacked by men who claimed to be Pattaya beach vendors

Pattaya-

A Thai man has sustained several injuries while he and his sister were eating on Pattaya beach after allegedly being attacked by two men who claimed to be beach vendors early this morning (November 10th).

The Pattaya City Police were notified of the incident at 2:00 AM on Pattaya beach in Central Pattaya.

They and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find Mr. Kittichai Suktanorm, 20, who had sustained ear injuries and was lying on the ground. He was taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

He told Pattaya police the following, “My sister and I were eating on the beach near the Pattaya City Police Station.”

“Two male Thai teenagers who claimed to be beach vendors told us that to be careful of sitting on the beach or police will arrest us.”

“I told them that we were doing nothing wrong and why would we be arrested. We refused to leave.” He added.

“The two men were disappointed and angry that we would not leave before attacking me. I attempted to run away. They then threw a cement block at me.”

“I fell on the ground before they attacked me again physically. I did nothing wrong.” Kittichai concluded.

Pattaya police are continuing their investigation to find the potential suspects. They are also reviewing CCTV in the area to follow up on the statements made by Kittichai as they believe there may be more to the story.

The Pattaya News notes that sitting on the beach is not illegal at any hour in Pattaya, however certain actions like consuming alcohol on the beach or smoking cigarettes are against the law although not always enforced.
