Driver flees after his pickup truck crashes into a motorbike and Chonburi restaurant

Chonburi-

An male pickup driver has fled the scene after his pickup truck slammed into a motorbike before crashing into a restaurant last night (November 6th) in Mueang Chonburi.

Rescue workers were notified of the accident at 8:50 PM in the Nong Kang Kok sub-district.

They arrived at the scene to find a damaged motorbike. Two people on the motorbike had sustained minor injuries. They were not named to the press.

The two injured people told rescue workers that the pickup truck crashed into them. The damaged pickup truck was nearby but the driver, only identified as a male, had immediately fled on foot according to them.

The restaurant owner, Ms. Yonladda Tanapatipan, 60 told the press “The pickup truck crashed directly into my restaurant where several of my customers were eating.”

“Luckily, we have escaped injuries. The pickup truck driver fled the scene without even checking on the injured or damages.” She added.

Police found the driving license of Mr. Niphon Saelao, 43, inside the pickup truck.

However they are continuing their investigation to find the driver for further legal action and verify that the ID found in the truck is indeed that of the driver.
