Two other injured people from the pickup truck were named as Mr. Ittiphong Sangkaew, 42, the pickup truck driver and a three year old boy who had sustained various injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

The larger truck driver, who asked not to be named, said he was parked on the side of the road as his vehicle had broken down and was waiting for roadside assistance.

He claimed he put some tree branches on the road at the back of his truck to warn other road users but admitted the emergency light signals from the truck were not turned on.

He was reportedly sleeping in the truck when he realized that the smaller vehicle had crashed into his truck. He was not injured.

However police are continuing their investigation for further potential legal action and looking into why the larger truck driver had not turned on his emergency lights.
