Driver falls asleep at wheel in truck carrying hazardous chemicals, crashes on Banglamung road

A chemical truck driver suffered no injuries after his truck carrying flammable chemicals fell off the road when he fell asleep at the wheel in Banglamung this morning.

The Huayyai Police was notified of the accident at 8:30 AM on Road No. 36 in the Pong sub district.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the truck, carrying Hydrocarbon which is flammable, fell off the side of the road onto its side.

The surrounding area had been temporarily blocked. The driver, Mr. Eakkacahi Sampaoloi, 32, was waiting for Pong police at the scene.

He told police that he was traveling from Rayong to Samut Prakan. He admitted to falling asleep and running off the road. Fortunately, neither he nor the truck suffered serious damage in the incident.
