Chonburi, Thailand

A 41-year-old man has sustained injuries from a bullet wound to his leg at a BBQ buffet restaurant shooting yesterday while a gunman and his accomplice have been arrested in Chonburi today.

Two suspects in a car stopped at a Chonburi area BBQ buffet restaurant mid afternoon yesterday before firing several gun shots at Mr. Arthit Sukuntham, 41. A bullet pierced though Mr. Arthit’s leg, while the other bullets missed.

The Mueang Chonburi Police Chief Colonel Suriya Yoopaet told The Pattaya News that they arrested two suspects today who are a Thai man, Artit Manoton, 36, and his girlfriend, who wasn’t named. Police also seized a handgun from them. The suspect and the victim share a similar first name.

Mr. Arthit told police that the suspect was angry at him because he reportedly told police that he bought drugs from the suspect when he was arrested with methamphetamine pills before.

Both suspects face legal charges in the shooting incident.
