Banglamung sees increase in serious mosquito carried virus

Banglamung-

Nongprue continues to roll out its campaign to contain the spread of chikungunya and dengue fever after many cases have been reported locally recently and visits to hospitals have increased.

The virus comes from bites from infected mosquitoes. A high number of chikungunya and dengue fever cases were reported in the area. Si Racha has also been having high levels of outbreaks of dengue fever which we also reported earlier this week.

The Public Health and Environment Division of Nongprue in Banglamung are warning the public in the Nongprue area to take protective measures.

Yesterday, August 6th, 2020, they used fogging machines to assist in getting rid of mosquito-breeding areas throughout the Nongprue and Banglamung area.

They have also educated local residents about dengue fever and how to protect themselves.

This includes measures like using mosquito spray and limiting small sources of water around homes where mosquitoes can breed. The Pattaya News has previously covered the danger of Dengue fever locally recently as the coverage has been overshadowed due to Covid-19 nationally, yet there are far more cases of Dengue fever in Thailand.
