One monk dead, eight monks injured after Songtaew truck accident on Sri Racha hill

One monk has died while eight monks have been injured after an accident on a hill in Sri Racha yesterday morning.

Sawang Prateep Sri Racha Foundation reports that they were notified of the accident at 7:30AM on a hill to Khao Phra Kru Temple.

They arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck on the hill.

Eight injuries, which were two monks and six novices (young monks) were found. A ninth monk was found dead at the scene, his personal information was withheld. They were taken to local hospitals.

Police are continuing their investigation to find the cause of accident.

The local temple and Abbot is also involved in the investigation. Information on the driver of the vehicle was not released to the press.
