SRIRACHA: The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) is advancing environmental awareness among young people by awarding 490,000 baht to schools in communities surrounding Laem Chabang Port through the project “Fairy Tales Weaving Dreams… Sustainable Waters.” The initiative uses storytelling to teach children about water conservation and environmental stewardship from an early age.
On Tuesday, the 22nd of September 2026, Mr. Rangsan Sri-anan, Level 13 Administrator of Laem Chabang Port, presided over the funding ceremony for the fiscal year 2026 project supporting schools in communities around the port’s operational area. Also present were Ms. Pranee Supakitsin, Director of the Corporate Governance Bureau of the Port Authority of Thailand, along with community leaders, school administrators, teachers, and students from nearby schools.

Mr. Rangsan said the project forms part of PAT’s corporate social responsibility action plan for fiscal year 2026 under its strategy to strengthen communities around operational sites. The goal is to pass on knowledge and instill awareness of aquatic environmental conservation among children and youth.
PAT allocated 490,000 baht so that schools around Laem Chabang Port can organize learning activities on water-resource conservation, with an emphasis on participation by children and young people.

The project uses fairy tales as the main teaching medium because stories are easy for children to grasp, enjoyable, and well suited to weaving in moral lessons and ideas about caring for natural resources in an age-appropriate way.
PAT hopes children and youth will come to understand and value water resources, apply what they learn in daily life, and grow into key contributors to environmental protection, supporting sustainable development at the individual, community, and societal levels.

Mr. Rangsan noted that water resources are a fundamental factor for livelihood and community development, particularly in areas surrounding PAT’s operations at Laem Chabang Port. Instilling environmental conservation awareness from childhood, he said, is an essential foundation for sustainable development.
PAT also places importance on participatory work among agencies, educational institutions, and communities, alongside environmental care and the building of good relations with local residents.
“We hope this support will open space for children and youth to learn about water resources through creative activities, become aware of the value of the environment, and apply that knowledge in concrete ways in their everyday lives,” Mr. Rangsan said.
He also thanked school administrators, teachers, students, community leaders, and all parties involved for jointly driving the “Fairy Tales Weaving Dreams… Sustainable Waters” project to benefit youth, communities, and the environment around Laem Chabang Port on an ongoing basis.
