Pattaya Advances Sports City Vision with Third Chaturamit Cup Football Tournament

PATTAYA: Pattaya City continues to prioritize its development as a Sports City and to promote sports tourism, using sporting events to strengthen the city’s image, attract visitors and participants, and generate economic opportunities for the local area.

The Pattaya Chaturamit Cup football tournament is held annually. This year marks its third edition. Organizers say the event is to build unity, improve the health and well-being of young people and residents, and give athletes a chance to develop their skills, showcase their ability, and gain competitive experience.

Meeting participants reviewed the tournament rules and regulations. The competition is tentatively scheduled for 30 November to 6 December 2026, with no matches on Saturdays or Sundays. Matches will take place at the football field of Photisampan Pittayakhan School.

The tournament will be divided into two categories:

– Youth category: Players must be students of participating schools and must have been enrolled since the first semester of the 2026 academic year.

– Senior category: Teams will field players by age group, with eight players aged 45–49 and five players aged 50–55. Goalkeepers must be at least 45 years old. All athletes must be alumni, current students, or staff of a participating school and must have been residents of Pattaya City, Chonburi Province, before 1 January 2026.

Each team may register no more than 25 players and three officials: one team manager, one coach, and one team official.

Pattaya City hopes the Chaturamit Cup will become a key activity that encourages young people and residents to use their free time constructively, improve physical and mental health, and strengthen ties among schools, government agencies, and the community. Officials say the event will also support Pattaya’s longer-term goal of becoming a sustainable Sports City and sports tourism destination.

Further details on the competition format, rules, cheerleading contest, and the exact match schedule will be finalized in upcoming meetings with relevant agencies and schools.
