PATTAYA: A Pattaya City Council meeting has considered motions, amendments and questions from council members designed at resolving public concerns and tracking solutions on urban development, transport, public spaces, and services for residents and visitors.
Three questions stood out.
Jomtien Beach Road congestion
Council member Suchart Khunjeng raised the narrow Jomtien beachfront road, which becomes severely congested during weekends and festivals when large numbers of tourists arrive. Pattaya City outlined measures to ease traffic and improve management of the area.

Lan Pho and Khlong Nok Yang parks
Council member Thanaphat Udomrattanakulchai asked about maintenance of children’s play equipment, exercise machines and other facilities at Chalermphrakiat Lan Pho Park and Khlong Nok Yang Park in Naklua. Some equipment is damaged or worn. He also asked about improvements to the access road at the Lan Pho parking building and safety after several accidents on the roadside shoulder.
Pattaya City said safety work is under way. Damaged play equipment at Khlong Nok Yang Park has already been removed to prevent injury, and replacement equipment is being considered.

Mobile toilets at Bali Hai Pier
Council member Sannychai Phonluk-in raised foul odours and wastewater leaking onto the road from mobile toilet trucks at Bali Hai Pier, harming cleanliness and the area’s image as a tourist destination. The city outlined corrective steps and said it would continue to enforce hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Pattaya City said it takes council proposals seriously and will turn them into concrete action on traffic, safety, public spaces and sanitation, with the goal of improving residents’ quality of life and strengthening visitor confidence.
