PATTAYA, Thailand: A 45-year-old British man was injured early Tuesday after two men on a motorcycle boxed him in, assaulted him and tried to steal his mobile phone near Soi Jomtien 15. This happened just minutes before a Russian tourist was robbed at gunpoint on Soi Pattaya Park and only one day after another Russian tourist was beaten and robbed on Soi Thrappraya 9. Police believe the same suspects may be responsible for the similar crimes targeting solo male foreign tourists alone late at night in Jomtien.

UPDATE: Two possible suspects have been arrested after yet another assault and robbery attempt on a Turkish tourist in Pratumnak Soi 6.

Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya volunteer unit received a report of an assault at 1:36 a.m. on September 15th, 2026. The incident occurred at the entrance to Soi Jomtien 15. Volunteers and officers from Pattaya City Police Station responded to the scene.

They found Mr. Anand, a British national, with bruises on his body and a wound consistent with a sharp object running from his left temple to his ear. Rescuers gave first aid and rushed him to a nearby hospital.

A convenience store employee, Miss Duddao Thiwadwad, 20, said the victim came into the shop seeking help. He told her that two Thai men who appeared drunk had ridden up on a motorcycle, pulled alongside him and attacked. One of them threatened him with a bladed weapon in an apparent robbery attempt, then assaulted him and tried to snatch his phone. The victim resisted and the pair fled on the motorcycle without taking the phone.

Pattaya City Police have taken a formal complaint from the victim. Investigators are examining the area and reviewing CCTV footage from the scene and nearby roads in an effort to identify and arrest the suspects.
