BUENG KAN: Security forces have seized 2,792,000 methamphetamine tablets, known locally as yaba, and 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, or ice, in a major operation along the Mekong River in northeastern Thailand.
The raid was carried out by Task Force Surasakmontri through Control Headquarters 2 of the 13th Infantry Regiment, working with other security agencies in the Bueng Kan province. Officers targeted a site on the riverbank in the Ho Kham subdistrict of the Mueang Bueng Kan district.

One suspect was arrested. Authorities also confiscated a car used in the operation.
Officials later held a press conference at the Bueng Kan Provincial Police Station in Mueang district. Bueng Kan Governor Suraphon Charoenphum attended, joined by local security agencies and members of the press.
Authorities said the operation was part of a broader effort to intercept and suppress drug-trafficking networks along the border and to protect public safety.

“United in effort, united in purpose, intercept drugs for the safety of the people,” officials said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
