SATTAHIP, Chonburi: A Sattahip deputy district chief led an undercover narcotics operation in Sattahip on August 27th, 2026, resulting in the arrest of a 42-year-old man alleged to be a local drug agent and the seizure of crystal methamphetamine, hundreds of methamphetamine pills, and a modified firearm.
The operation was ordered by Sattahip District Chief Natthawut Anuyotha and carried out by Deputy District Chief Napatsawan Anon, together with Bang Saray village head Worarit Jangbaworn, Phlu Ta Luang village head Chanchai Nitsin, and officers from the Sattahip District Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Operations Center.
Authorities arranged for an informant to contact Chaisit “Pao” Rotwan, 42, and order crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice,” for 300 baht. The suspect arrived on a motorcycle to deliver the drugs. Officers then identified themselves and arrested him, seizing a bag of ice weighing 0.73 grams including packaging and a mobile phone used to arrange the sale.
A follow-up search of his rented room uncovered a larger cache. Officers found another bag of ice weighing 62.5 grams including packaging, hidden in a pink metal box under the mattress, along with 808 methamphetamine pills packed in four plastic bags. They also seized one modified long firearm and a green Suzuki Smash motorcycle that had been altered and used to deliver the drugs during the sting.
Officials said 11 items of evidence were seized in total. Chaisit was taken into custody and charged with selling a Category 1 narcotic (ice, or methamphetamine) for commercial purposes and causing its spread among the public; possessing ice without authorization; possessing methamphetamine pills without authorization; riding a motorcycle while using a Category 1 narcotic; and possessing a firearm without a license.
Sattahip district administrative officials said they will continue narcotics suppression operations to curb trafficking and protect residents.
