PATTAYA: Senior police officials, local administrators, and members of the press gathered on Friday evening to pay their respects to Pim Sukwattana, known as Grandma Pim, during the second night of Buddhist funeral rites.
The ceremony was held at 7:30 p.m. on August 28th, 2026, at Sala 4 of Wat Boon Samphan (Soi Khao Noi) in Nong Prue. Pim Sukwattana was 87.
Among those attending were Amporn Kaewsaeng, chair of the Police Advisory Committee of Pattaya City Police Station; Pol. Col. Anek Srathongyu, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station; Pornchai Sangkiat, senior deputy district chief of Ko Chan; Pichannon Thaweesuk, deputy district chief of Bang Lamung; and Pol. Lt. Col. Siriwat Katchamat, deputy superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station.
They were joined by other members of the police advisory committee, Amporn Saengkaew, president of the Pattaya City Journalists Association, The Pattaya News team, relatives, colleagues and acquaintances.
Officials and officers from Pattaya City Police Station offered condolences and support to the family. One of the deceased’s grandsons is Ekkachai Sukwattana, a reporter for Nation TV and local Pattaya news pages including The Pattaya News.
The atmosphere was one of quiet mourning among family members, close relatives and those who held her in high regard.
Abhidhamma chanting will continue through August 30th according to the family’s schedule. The cremation is set for August 31, 2026.
