PATTAYA: On the 28th of August 2026, at the Thapphraya Meeting Room of Pattaya City Hall, Mr. Wuttisak Roemkitkan, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, led the opening of the Pattaya City Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) meeting and presented first-aid equipment kits to all 33 Community Primary Health Care Centers (CPHCCs) under the Pattaya City Health Security Fund for fiscal year 2026, as part of the project to prevent and monitor non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, are major public health problems that continue to increase. Pattaya City therefore focuses on proactive work, including health screening, early identification of at-risk groups and patients, health education, promotion of appropriate health behavior change, and ongoing home visits.
Pattaya City currently has 223 village health volunteers, 20 volunteer workers, and 33 CPHCCs in operation. These form a vital community-level health network because they are close to residents and can reach households comprehensively. Their roles include surveillance, screening, health advice, and follow-up care for at-risk groups and patients in the area.
The project hopes to strengthen the capacity of VHVs and community health networks so they can prevent and control NCDs more effectively, while providing essential equipment for basic health care so that residents receive prompt and widespread support.
