Pattaya City Advances CCTV Expansion and Security Integration for a Safer Tourism Hub

PATTAYA: Officials from Pattaya City Hall held a meeting yesterday, Wednesday, August 26th, to discuss enhancing public safety measures, including the expansion of the city’s CCTV network and closer teamwork with regional police forces.

The meeting, held in Meeting Room 131 at Pattaya City Hall, was attended by Mr. Bancha Kullawanit, Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya City; Mr. Wachira Thongdilek, Assistant Secretary to the Mayor of Pattaya City; Mr. Nattapol Theerawutworawet, Director of the Strategy and Budget Office; along with heads of relevant government departments and officials.

The Mayor of Pattaya, Poramese Ngamphichet, stated that the city is an international tourist destination that attracts large numbers of Thai residents and both domestic and foreign visitors. Strengthening security measures is therefore a core priority for the administration.

Pattaya currently operates more than 2,500 CCTV cameras across the city and plans to install over 200 additional cameras on Koh Larn. These measures are to improve safety monitoring and support the city’s ongoing development into a Smart City.

Closer integration with Police Region 2 and other relevant agencies is expected to boost the effectiveness of surveillance, crime prevention, and incident response. The enhanced system will also facilitate faster tracking of offenders and more efficient investigation of road accidents and other incidents.

Pattaya City places high importance on the safety of residents, tourists, and local businesses. Officials said the city will continue discussions with security agencies to ensure the CCTV network is fully integrated in practical ways. These efforts are intended to build public confidence in safety while raising the overall quality of city services in the future.
