PATTAYA, Thailand: A 27-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning after losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with a roadside utility pole in Pattaya.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on August 27th, 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya City Rescue Radio Center received a report of a motorcycle accident involving a fatal collision with a streetlight pole. The incident occurred on the road running alongside the railway in Nongprue.
Rescue volunteers, a medical team from Pattaya Hospital, and officers from Nong Prue Police Station responded to the scene. There, they found scattered trash bins along the roadside and a heavily damaged blue Honda Wave 125 motorcycle with plates from Suphan Buri, which had been thrown off the road. Nearby lay the body of the victim, later identified as Mr. Wasan Singbunngam, 27. He had sustained severe head injuries and was found lying in a pool of blood in front of a rental room.
Rescue workers covered the body with a white cloth and secured the area. When the victim’s mother arrived and saw her son’s body, she collapsed to her knees in grief, weeping openly. The scene deeply affected both officials and local residents.
Residents living near the site said they were inside their rooms when they heard a loud noise consistent with a crash, followed by the sound of a motorcycle near the front of the building. Upon opening their doors, they discovered the motorcycle had struck a utility pole and come to rest in front of the rental room, with a man lying unconscious nearby. They immediately called for emergency assistance, but the man passed before they arrived.
Police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage and collecting evidence to determine the exact cause of the accident.
