BANGLAMUNG, Chonburi: On August 24th, 2026, senior police officers met at Banglamung Police Station to review progress in the case of a teacher from a well-known local school accused of sexually assaulting a Mathayom 4 female student.
The roughly one-hour meeting took place in a third-floor conference room and was led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Thitawat Suriyachai, Deputy Commander of Police Region 2. Also present were Pol. Col. Sarawut Nuchanart, Superintendent of Bang Lamung Police Station; Pol. Lt. Col. Manoat Thipwet, deputy investigation inspector in charge of the case; and members of the investigative team.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Thitawat said authorities had been aware of the case for about a week. The station superintendent has been closely monitoring developments. A video clip has been examined and the locations and individuals involved have been verified. Investigators will next take statements from relevant parties and have coordinated with a children’s home to provide care for the student. The accused teacher will be invited for questioning so the case can proceed under the law.
“Whether a child is 17 or 18 years old, they are still not able to make decisions in the same way as an adult. Therefore, the idea of ‘consent’ does not apply,” Pol. Maj. Gen. Thitawat said. “The teacher already knows whether such actions are wrong. This matter must be treated as important, and police will carry out every step of the legal process fully.”

Pol. Lt. Col. Manoat Thipwet added that the victim will first be interviewed in the presence of a multidisciplinary team to gather evidence. Charges will then be formally notified and legal proceedings against the teacher will continue in accordance with the law.
