Pattaya, Thailand
Seven members of a group of teenagers accused of raiding a pool villa near Pattaya and assaulting a rival have turned themselves in to the police, bringing with them a handgun and knives, authorities said.
The incident occurred on the morning of August 14th, when nine teenagers stormed a pool villa in the Pong subdistrict. The group entered the property, fired one warning shot from a handgun, dragged the victim from his room, and slashed him on the head with a knife, causing injuries. The victim filed a complaint with officers at Nong Prue Police Station on the evening of August 17th.
On August 18th, seven of the suspects surrendered to investigators. They handed over a 9mm pistol without a serial number and several knives for examination as evidence. The remaining two individuals involved have indicated they will present themselves to police soon.
During a subsequent search of one suspect’s residence, officers discovered approximately 4.5 grams of ketamine. An additional drug-related charge has been filed in connection with that find.
Police said they are continuing to question those involved, examine the weapons, gather evidence, and carefully review closed-circuit television footage. Authorities stated that they will pursue legal action against each person based on the circumstances and available evidence, and will apply the law fairly to ensure justice for all parties.
