Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City Mr. Kritsana Boonsawat chaired a preparatory meeting for the 33rd Pattaya Marathon 2026 on Wednesday at the Naphalai Room of the Dusit Thani Hotel Pattaya.
The meeting brought together Pattaya City executives, the mayor’s working team, the Banglamung district chief, the superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station, government agencies, private-sector representatives, associations, and other relevant officials.
The marathon is scheduled for September 26–27, 2026, in Pattaya. Organizers expect more than 20,000 runners, tourists, and accompanying visitors to participate.
Participants reviewed readiness plans covering race formats and routes, security arrangements, medical and first-aid units, runner support, and traffic management. Officials divided the event area into eight zones to ensure thorough coverage, rapid coordination, and quick problem-solving while minimizing disruption to local residents and road users.
Pattaya City is partnering with Chonburi Province and the Tourism Authority of Thailand to elevate the event to international standards. The race has received the Athletics Road Race Label and has been included in the World Athletics competition calendar. Organizers view the marathon as a key initiative to position Pattaya as a Sports Hub Destination and a regional center for sports and tourism.
“Pattaya Marathon is an international sports event that draws both Thai and foreign runners and tourists to the city, delivering positive impacts for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and tourism,” Mr. Kritsana said. “At the same time, Pattaya City prioritizes public safety and convenience. We need systematic cooperation from every agency in planning and operations so the competition runs smoothly and leaves a lasting positive impression on participants.”
A press conference is scheduled for September 14th, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., followed by another preparatory meeting with relevant agencies to review plans and further strengthen operations. We will continue to release information especially traffic related as the event gets closer.
