My friend and I recently spent an unforgettable day at LAY Beach Club, Pattaya, enjoying the Siesta Duo Day Pass and honestly, paradise found is the only way to describe it.
From the moment we arrived at lunchtime right through to late afternoon, we were treated to some of the finest views Pattaya’s coastline has to offer with panoramic rooftop views stretching as far as the eye can see. Settled on plush daybeds beside the club’s striking hydro bar, where submerged loungers seem to float right into the horizon, it felt less like a beach club and more like a private slice of the Mediterranean transplanted onto Pattaya’s Beach Road.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather either. Clear skies and a gentle sea breeze made lounging on the daybeds feel like an absolute slice of heaven, the kind of afternoon that makes you forget you have anywhere else to be. We dipped and sipped away by the pool.
We enjoyed a jug of sangria and beautifully crafted cocktails. We settled in for an afternoon of indulgence, working our way through the à la carte menu’s Mediterranean-meets-Asian offerings, every dish as beautifully presented as it was delicious. From fresh seafood to elegant sharing plates, the food matched the setting perfectly.
We started with Kofte Kebab, the kind of dish you’d expect from a serious Mediterranean restaurant, not a beach club menu. From there we wandered into the grilled rib eye, each one carefully prepared and generous with locally sourced ingredients. Even dessert didn’t play it safe: a Sicily cannoli, filled with orange mascarpone and pistachio and finished with a rich drizzle of chocolate sauce, was the perfect indulgent close to the meal. It’s clear a lot of thought and genuine culinary ambition has gone into the menu, and it elevated the whole afternoon from a simple lounge-and-drink day into a proper dining occasion.
What elevated the day even further was the service. The staff at LAY were attentive without ever being intrusive, warm, genuinely friendly, and clearly proud of where they work. It’s a quality we’ve noticed time and again across the Meliá group properties. I have visited a real culture of hospitality running right through the team. What struck us most was how well the staff got on with one another; there was an easy camaraderie and a real enjoyment of their work that added genuine warmth and charm to the whole experience. It’s the kind of detail you can’t fake, and it makes all the difference between a good day out and an exceptional one.
As lunchtime rolled into late afternoon, the light softened. Up on the rooftop, the panoramic sweep of Pattaya Bay only got better as the afternoon wore on, and it was easy to imagine how the space transforms after dark, when the DJs take over in the evenings. With their soundtrack of chilled mixes, It’s easy to see why LAY has so quickly built a reputation as one of Pattaya’s most compelling beachfront destinations.
Beyond the day pass itself, LAY Beach Club’s calendar is never short of reasons to return, with resident DJs daily, international guest performers each month, and fire-fuelled rooftop entertainment as the sun goes down. At the time of writing, the venue’s calendar had no dates confirmed, so keep an eye on their social channels for the next lineup of events and offers.
