BANGLAMUNG, Thailand – August 20th, 2026 – Senior District Chief Officer of Banglamung Pichet Thamaho chaired the monthly meeting of heads of government agencies for August 2026 on Wednesday, urging related units to prepare for potential issues in the area.
The meeting took place at the Takhian Tia Subdistrict Municipality meeting room. Thamaho instructed village headmen, community leaders, and relevant agencies to closely monitor heavy rainfall, flooding, and flash floods. Special attention must be given to vulnerable groups, including bedridden patients, people with disabilities, and those unable to help themselves. In the event of an emergency, these groups should be surveyed and assisted as a priority to prevent loss of life and minimize impacts.
He also followed up on the survey of residents who missed registration for the state welfare card. Agencies and community leaders were directed to verify the data and complete the process by August 21st, 2026, to ensure all eligible people receive full support.
Regarding firearm and ammunition control, the government and the Ministry of Interior have introduced urgent nationwide measures to strengthen oversight. These include suspending approval of new welfare gun projects and temporarily halting the issuance of licenses to purchase firearms or Form Por.3 permits. Related agencies were ordered to strictly inspect traders and firearm ownership.
Officials focus multi-agency cooperation to address illegal and unregistered firearms, while closing gaps in existing control measures to prevent weapons from falling into the hands of those who should not possess them.
