In Meeting Room 131 at Pattaya City Hall, Pattaya City Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngamphichet, together with city executives, department heads led by Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Siwat Boonkerd, and relevant officials, welcomed Mr. Krit Phumisuvan, Manager of the Special Area Office for Sustainable Tourism of the Chang Islands and Connecting Areas (acting as Manager of the Special Area Office for Sustainable Tourism of Pattaya City and Connecting Areas), and his team.
The meeting focused on discussing approaches for formulating strategies and developing sustainable tourism in Pattaya City. Both sides exchanged information and ideas on area development that aligns with Pattaya’s future direction, with emphasis on managing tourist attractions, ensuring order and convenience for visitors, and advancing urban development while protecting the environment and residents’ quality of life.
Mayor Poramese proposed that the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) study management approaches for key locations in Pattaya, particularly Bali Hai Pier, an important connection point between Pattaya and Koh Larn. This includes internal operations such as ferry ticket sales management, as well as the salt fields and other tourist sites, to identify ways to enhance efficiency, convenience, safety, and the capacity to better accommodate tourists.
Pattaya City expressed readiness to coordinate and cooperate with DASTA in jointly developing city and tourism strategies suited to the area’s potential, with the goal of becoming a quality, livable tourism city that grows sustainably in the future.
