Mr. Praiwan Aromchuen, President of the Pattaya City Council, presided over a press conference announcing the 23rd Sepak Takraw Competition 2026. He was joined by Mr. Samrit Phongwirat, Secretary-General of the Chonburi Provincial Sports Association; Lieutenant Junior Grade Sawat Saengphakdi, representative of the Sepak Takraw Association of Thailand; Mr. Peerawat Mongkolsin, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand Chonburi Office; and Mr. Nitikorn Nilsak, Marketing Director of Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya. The group welcomed media and participants at Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya in Chonburi Province.
Pattaya City, through its Tourism and Sports Bureau, will organize the 23rd annual Sepak Takraw Competition in two categories. Indoor Sepak Takraw will take place from August 20 to 23, 2026, at the competition venue of Pattaya City School 7 (Ban Nong Phang Khae) in Chonburi Province. Beach Sepak Takraw is scheduled for August 29 to 30, 2026, at Jomtien Beach. The total prize money exceeds 200,000 baht.
Mr. Praiwan stated that the competition is an activity Pattaya City is eager to support. Beyond providing athletes the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their skills, it encourages youth and the general public to exercise and make productive use of their free time. The event also hopes to elevate competition standards to an international level and enhance Pattaya’s reputation as a Sports City and a destination for sports tourism.
Following the press conference, organizers conducted a draw to determine the competition brackets in preparation for the events. The tournament is expected to generate excitement and a great sports atmosphere throughout Pattaya during the competition period.
