PATTAYA, Thailand – On August 15th, 2026, Damrongkiat Phinijkarn, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, represented the Mayor of Pattaya at a gala dinner hosted by the Indian Association of the Eastern Region to mark India’s 80th Independence Day.
Phongthasit Pitjanan, Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province, presided over the ceremony, while Lakshman Singh, President of the Indian Association of the Eastern Region (also known as the Indian Community Eastern, or ICE), delivered the report.
The event, held at The Siamese Hotel in Pattaya under the theme “India @80 – 80th Independence Day Celebration,” brought together association members and distinguished guests from various agencies. Among those present were the Senior Deputy District Chief of Banglamung, the Deputy District Chief of Banglamung, members of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization Council, the President of the Chonburi Tourism Federation Association, a representative of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Central-Eastern Region), and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Pattaya City Police Station.
Organized by Indian Community Eastern (ICE), the celebration commemorated a significant historical milestone for the Republic of India. It showed the ongoing cooperation that builds friendship and strengthens relations among the Indian community in Thailand, Thai citizens, government agencies, the private sector, and residents of the Eastern region.
The gathering shows the enduring partnership and mutual goodwill that continue to thrive in the area.
