Pattaya City Mayor Poramese Ngampichet has expressed profound sorrow over the recent shocking murders in the Huai Yai subdistrict that claimed the lives of five innocent people, while praising the efforts of responding officers and volunteers and urging enhanced preventive measures across the country.
“First of all, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the shocking incident in Huai Yai subdistrict, which claimed five innocent lives. No words can compensate for this loss,” the statement began.The mayor extended encouragement to all officers from every unit, as well as the many volunteers who dedicated their physical and mental efforts to fully carry out their duties in finding the suspects and safeguarding the public.
Although the tragedy did not actually occur within Pattaya city limits, it has deeply shaken people across a wide area and impacted overall public confidence in national security, the statement noted.For Pattaya itself, crime prevention has long been a top priority. The city continues to strengthen safety measures, including expanding CCTV and AI assisted camera coverage in key areas to support police in quickly tracking suspects and investigating incidents when they occur.
The mayor also called on the government and all relevant agencies to integrate data and surveillance measures targeting individuals who may pose a threat to society, even after they have completed their legal sentences, to help prevent similar tragedies from striking any other family.“I join in mourning all the victims and send my support to the affected families, as well as to every officer involved in the response,” the statement concluded.
