The Drug Prevention and Solution Division under the Administrative Section of the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Pattaya City organized a training program to build immunity against drug problems in schools at Pattaya City School 7 (Wat Nong Yai).
Mr. Manoch Nongyai, Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, led the opening ceremony. Miss Nittaya Khaleram, Acting Head of the Drug Prevention and Solution Division of Pattaya City, reported on the objectives of the activity.
The event was also attended by Mr. Banjong Bandhuprayuk, Deputy Chairman of the Pattaya City Council; Police Captain Sombat Prawanram, Deputy Inspector of Prevention and Suppression at Pattaya City Police Station, who served as a lecturer for the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) project; and heads of government agencies from the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Pattaya City.
The program wants to strengthen immunity and prevent drug problems among children and youth. The target group consists of Mathayom 2 (Grade 8) students from all 11 schools under Pattaya City administration. It seeks to enhance knowledge and understanding of the dangers of drugs, raise awareness of current situations, and instill refusal skills so that young people can properly protect themselves from drug-related issues.
The training is conducted in cooperation with D.A.R.E. project lecturers from Pattaya City Police Station which we covered here, who deliver knowledge and facilitate practical activities. Each school receives two training sessions totaling 13 hours. For this session, 70 Mathayom 2 students participated.
Pattaya City remains committed to continuously driving drug prevention and solution efforts by building immunity among children and youth, while developing cooperation among educational institutions, families, and all sectors of society. The goal is to create drug-free schools and develop Pattaya into a sustainably safe city.
