PATTAYA, Thailand: A chicken farm owner in Chonburi Province received a late-night fright on July 23rd, 2026, when a massive python roughly 4 meters long entered a coop and began constricting chickens.
At about 11:30 p.m., rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan unit in Pattaya received an emergency call from the farm in Soi Ban Lang 11. The owner reported discovering the large snake inside the chicken enclosure.
Upon arrival, responders found the python coiled on the coop’s roof frame while gripping a chicken. Capturing the powerful reptile proved difficult due to its size, strength, and elevated position. Two additional firefighters from Nong Prue Municipality were called in to assist.
After more than 30 minutes of careful effort, the team safely secured the snake, placed it in a sack, and later released it into the wild to prevent further disturbances to local residents.
The farm owner said he was resting at home when he heard the chickens making unusually loud, panicked noises. He grabbed a flashlight and checked the coop, only to be shocked by the sight of the large python constricting a bird. Unwilling to approach it himself, he immediately contacted rescuers.
No one was injured in the incident.
