Pattaya Police Roll Out Innovative D.A.R.E. Program in Schools, Turning Drug Prevention Lessons into Interactive Fun

PATTAYA, Thailand — In a fresh approach to youth engagement, Pattaya police have launched an energetic new phase of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program, transforming traditional anti-drug lessons into lively, game-like learning experiences that have classrooms buzzing with excitement.

Led by Pol. Lt. Col. Siriwat Katchamat, Deputy Commander of the Crime Suppression Division at Pattaya City Police Station, the “D.A.R.E. Pattaya” team has partnered with the Pattaya City Drug Prevention and Suppression Operations Center to drive the “PATTAYA CARE” initiative. The program wants to equip teenagers with essential life skills and create a strong network of youth committed to keeping their community safe and drug-free.

This latest round focuses on Active Learning methodologies aligned with international standards. Instead of conventional lectures, students participate in interactive games, role-playing simulations, and group activities designed to make prevention education both memorable and enjoyable. Classrooms have reportedly been packed, with students fully engaged and responding with laughter, smiles, and enthusiastic participation.

The hands-on format has proven highly effective, helping young participants not only understand the risks of drugs and other dangers but also develop the confidence to become proactive citizens who help care for their city.

“Studying with the police officers is never boring, there’s only knowledge and fun delivered without holding back!” one group of students shared.
