Pattaya, Thailand – Officials from Pattaya City, working together with the Chonburi Provincial Center for Protection and Enhancement of Quality of Life (under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security) and the Chonburi Provincial Children’s and Family Shelter, conducted a coordinated operation to manage and relocate homeless people in key tourist areas.
The operation targeted Pattaya Beach and Jomtien Beach, following complaints received by the Public Complaint Center of Pattaya City Hall. This is to improve the city’s image as a safe and attractive tourist destination for both residents and visitors.
A total of 19 individuals were assisted during the operation:
– 13 adult males
– 5 adult females
– 1 boy
Of those assisted:
– 13 people (8 males and 5 females) were relocated or encouraged to move on.
– 3 adult males were referred to the provincial protection center.
– 1 boy was transferred to the Children’s and Family Shelter.
– 2 adult males were sent to a local hospital for medical care.
Authorities noted that 11 individuals were repeat cases, including 8 males and 3 females.
The multi-agency effort is part of Pattaya’s ongoing commitment to maintaining order in its prime beach areas while providing appropriate welfare support to vulnerable individuals.
