Two Chinese Nationals Wanted for Illegal Surrogacy Ring Arrested in Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand– Thai authorities have arrested two Chinese fugitives hiding in Pattaya accused of leading an illegal surrogacy and underground medical network in China, as part of a joint operation to combat transnational crime.

Officers from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) under the Crime Suppression Division, working with the Immigration Bureau, detained Mr. Yan, 43, and Ms. Mi, 33, both Chinese nationals. The pair were wanted by Chinese authorities for their alleged involvement in an illegal surrogacy gang that also operated unlicensed medical facilities.

The suspects had fled China and were hiding in Thailand. They were apprehended at a hotel in Naklua. Following the arrest, immigration officials revoked their permission to remain in the Kingdom, and they are now set to be deported back to the People’s Republic of China to face charges.
