Local authorities in Sri Racha District inspected a condominium complex in Tambon Bo Win after receiving complaints that Myanmar nationals were allegedly operating businesses without proper permits, including a supermarket selling untaxed imported goods and an alleged Myanmar barber in a profession reserved for Thai citizens.

On July 5th, 2026, Mr. Apichat Nunchoey, the village headman of Moo 3 in Tambon Bo Win, led a team of district administration officers to the area following reports from local residents. The area is known to house a large number of foreign workers.

During the inspection, officials discovered a Myanmar national operating a supermarket that sold products primarily from Myanmar brands. The goods reportedly lacked Thai-language labels, and the business had allegedly not paid import duties or obtained the necessary operating licenses from relevant authorities.

Officers also found another Myanmar national allegedly running a barber shop on the premises. Hairdressing is classified as a reserved occupation under Thai law, intended exclusively for Thai nationals.

Authorities recorded statements and evidence from the site before forwarding the case to Sri Racha District officials for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The inspection comes amid ongoing concerns from local residents about foreign workers engaging in unregulated business activities that they believe compete unfairly with Thai livelihoods. District officials have not yet released details on potential penalties or next steps.
