Pattaya, Thailand – A 59-year-old Finnish tourist narrowly escaped death after being stabbed in the chest near his heart by his transgender partner during a violent argument over 200 Baht before riding his motorbike to Pattaya City Police Station to seek help. The partner fled and police continue to look for them.
The incident was reported at 3:16 a.m. on July 2nd, 2026, when Mr. Lauri, a Finnish national, staggered into Pattaya City Police Station covered in blood. Investigating officer Pol. Lt. Col. Suthiraphan Thapsri, who was on duty, immediately assisted the injured man.
Through an interpreter, Mr. Laurie told police he had been in a relationship with a transgender woman for over a year. The couple got into a heated argument at a room in Soi Buakhao after he refused to give her approximately 200 baht (about $6 USD). During the dispute, his partner grabbed a sharp object and allegedly attacked him, slashing his eyebrow and the area under his left eye before stabbing him in the chest, close to his heart.
Fearing for his life, Mr. Laurie grabbed his motorbike keys, fled the room, and rode directly to the police station. Rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya provided first aid at the station, treating lacerations to his eyebrow, under the left eye, and a stab wound to the left chest near the heart. He was then transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
Police noted bloodstains on the victim’s motorbike and documented the evidence. Investigators were dispatched to the scene in Soi Buakhao, roughly one kilometer from the station, to review CCTV footage and locate the suspect for questioning.
Authorities are treating the case as an assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and are continuing their search for the transgender partner who fled to bring her in for legal proceedings.
