Walking Street, Soi 6 in North Pattaya, beachside beer bars along Pattaya Beach, Pattaya Second Road, and the Nakluea area were largely dark, with nightlife businesses closed for the night.
While a handful of restaurants, convenience stores, and businesses not affected by the restrictions remained open, the overall scene was quiet. Scattered groups of tourists could still be seen strolling and taking photos at popular spots, but foot traffic was significantly lighter than in previous weeks.
Local business operators have shown strong cooperation with the law, temporarily halting alcohol sales and closing entertainment venues during the designated pre-election period. The move is intended to ensure the election proceeds smoothly, transparently, and free from any violations of electoral regulations.
The closure of entertainment venues and the ban on alcohol sales in the lead-up to polling day is a standard nationwide measure enforced under Thai election law. Businesses are expected to resume normal operations once voting concludes and the restricted period ends.
On Sunday, June 28th, 2026, Pattaya residents will head to the polls to elect the city mayor and members of the Pattaya City Council. Polling stations, 113 in total, will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Voters are encouraged to exercise their right to help shape the direction of the city’s development for the next four years.
