Pattaya, June 28th, 2026 — Voters began streaming into polling stations across Pattaya immediately after polls opened at 8:00 a.m. today for the city’s mayoral election, with officials reporting smooth and orderly voting from the outset.
Reporters visiting multiple polling units observed a lively atmosphere as soon as ballot boxes were unsealed. Residents arrived steadily throughout the morning, while election officials efficiently checked voter lists and managed queues to ensure a smooth process.
Many voters told reporters they deliberately came early to avoid the intense midday heat and to return to their daily routines afterward. As a result, several polling stations saw significant crowds right from the opening bell.
At the Darul Ibadah Mosque polling station in central Pattaya, mayoral candidate Poramese Ngamphichet arrived with family members who are eligible to vote. His appearance drew considerable attention from both the public and members of the media covering the election.
Poramese urged Pattaya residents with voting rights to come out and cast their ballots, while also appealing to business operators open today to encourage their eligible employees to exercise their right to vote and allow them the time to go and vote.
The Pattaya mayoral election has been divided into four constituencies comprising a total of 33 polling stations. There are 80,204 registered voters. Voting is proceeding according to the schedule set by the Election Commission, with strict security measures and comprehensive facilitation by officials in place to ensure the process remains fair, transparent, and orderly.
