Reader Submission: MY PERFECT FIFA WORLD CUP VENUE? IT HAS TO BE DAISY D’S, JOMTIEN!

I’ve watched football in plenty of places over the years, but I honestly can’t think of many venues better suited to a FIFA World Cup than Daisy D’s on Jomtien Beach.

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a wall of screens. In fact, there are so many televisions that it genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into the Sky Sports News Centre itself. No matter where you’re sitting, you won’t miss a goal, a replay, or the latest scores from around the world. With live sport shown from open until close, it’s a sports fan’s paradise.

But Daisy D’s is far more than just a sports bar. The food is superb from morning until night. Their breakfasts are the perfect way to start the day, whether it’s a hearty Full English or something a little lighter. Lunches are equally tempting, with burgers, pizzas, wings and sharing dishes, while dinner becomes an occasion in itself with fantastic mains and delicious handcrafted pizzas coming from the stone hearth oven.

One of my favourite things to do is grab a drink and simply take in the view. From the front of Daisy D’s you can enjoy some of the most spectacular sunsets in Jomtien. As darkness falls, the twinkling lights of Koh Larn and Bang Saray in the distance create a magical backdrop that makes you want to stay for just one more drink and one more match.

Then there’s the wonderful touch of nostalgia. Sitting proudly inside is a scale model of the famous General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, giving the venue a unique character and a real talking point for nostalgia.

For me, Daisy D’s has everything you could want for the World Cup: great food, ice-cold drinks, incredible views, a fantastic atmosphere and enough screens to make every game feel like a major sporting event.

When the World Cup kicks off, I know exactly where I’ll be.
