Young Saleswoman Terrified After Intruder Climbs into Pattaya Apartment; CCTV Captures Break-In While She Was Out

Pattaya, June 1st, 2026 – A 22-year-old female house saleswoman was left shaken after discovering that a young man had secretly climbed into her fourth-floor apartment via the fire escape while she was briefly out buying food. The incident, captured clearly on her indoor CCTV, has caused her to move out immediately over safety fears.

According to a police report filed at Nong Prue Police Station, the victim, Miss Prarthana Thongmali, a resident of Songkhla Province working as a saleswoman in a Pattaya housing project, reported the intrusion around 7:00 PM on June 1.

Miss Prarthana lived in a room on the fourth floor of an apartment building in Soi Mab Ya Lia 18/2. She shares the unit with two cats.

She told police that after returning from buying dinner, she noticed one of her cats behaving unusually, hiding under the bed and trembling violently with extreme fear, a reaction she said she had never seen before. She also found her indoor CCTV camera knocked over onto the floor with its plug disconnected.

Suspicious, she immediately reviewed the footage, which left her in shock.

The CCTV clearly recorded a Thai man, estimated to be in his 20s to early 30s, wearing a T-shirt and black long trousers, climbing the external metal fire escape ladder at the rear of the building around 6:55 PM. He then entered her room through the rear window.

While inside, the intruder walked around the room, turned on the lights, and caused the two cats to flee in panic. The camera was then apparently knocked over and unplugged, cutting off the recording. Miss Prarthana confirmed she had never seen or known the man before.

A thorough check of her belongings showed nothing was stolen, leading her to believe the intruder did not enter to commit theft. Instead, she fears he may have intended to harm her, and she considers herself extremely lucky to have been out of the room at the time.

“After this, I contacted my boyfriend’s family to discuss the situation,” she said. “I immediately decided to pack my things and move out because I no longer feel safe here. I urge the police to track down this man and take legal action against him.”

Police Lieutenant Colonel Arawan Saengthong, the investigating officer at Nong Prue Police Station, has received the complaint along with the CCTV evidence and is now investigating to identify and apprehend the suspect.
