Pattaya Traffic Police to Strictly Enforce Ban on Motorcycles from Central Pattaya Tunnel

Pattaya, Thailand – The Traffic Division of Pattaya City Police Station has issued a strict prohibition on motorcycles entering the Central Pattaya underpass tunnel, citing road safety concerns for all users.

Motorcyclists are now completely barred from riding down into the underpass. Authorities are urging residents, commuters, and tourists to strictly observe the ban to prevent accidents and protect lives and property.

Violators face fines of up to 1,000 baht under Sections 35 and 160 of the Land Traffic Act B.E. 2522 (1979) for disobeying traffic signs or signals.

Safety Guidelines Issued by Police:

1. Do not ignore prohibition signs at the underpass entrance. Always check signs before proceeding.
2. Strictly follow all traffic signs and signals.
3. Wear helmets at all times – both riders and passengers.
4. Drive at legal speeds.
5. Help build traffic discipline for a safer Pattaya.

Pol. Lt. Col. Amorntep Maima, Traffic Inspector at Pattaya City Police Station, has instructed officers to strictly enforce the law in the area. Increased monitoring and enforcement are to reduce road accidents and enhance safety for both locals and visitors.

The measure comes amid ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and safety around one of Pattaya’s key infrastructure points.
