Pattaya, Thailand – A violent altercation between a group of foreigners and Thai nationals at the Lam Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya escalated dramatically when a dark-colored sedan reversed and pinned a woman underneath, lifting the vehicle’s wheels off the ground. The shocking incident went viral on social media and is now being investigated by Pattaya Police.
The incident occurred around dawn on Friday, May 29th, 2026, near the Lam Bali Hai Pier. A Facebook user later posted a video of the chaotic scene, which quickly circulated online.
In the footage, men from both sides of various nationalities and race are seen running and exchanging punches, while multiple women are involved in a physical scuffle involving hair-pulling and slapping. Moments later, a dark sedan reverses into the area and strikes a woman, trapping her beneath the chassis. The car’s rear wheels visibly lift as the vehicle presses down on her, causing panic among bystanders.
Local residents and witnesses rushed to lift the car manually, successfully freeing the injured woman. The driver then carried her into the vehicle and drove away from the scene.
Mr. Warayut (Fluke) Siyangnok, 23, the owner of the video, told The Pattaya News reporters that he was returning home after a squid-fishing trip when he encountered the fight. He described seeing a foreign man holding a large rock, apparently intending to use it as a weapon, before a Thai man intervened and snatched it away, sparking further chaos.
Warayut added that the woman who was run over is believed to be the girlfriend of the car’s driver, an Asian man thought to be Chinese. After the rescue, the driver took her away, and Warayut said he does not know what happened afterward.
No official statements have been released by Pattaya police yet regarding arrests or the identities of those involved. The incident remains under investigation. It’s unclear what sparked the fight or why multiple different parties were involved of different nationalities.
The Bali Hai Pier area is a popular tourist spot in South Pattaya, often busy with locals and visitors at all hours. Pattaya Police and authorities have reminded the public that if people have disputes with each other they should call the police to mediate and be unbiased versus let a situation devolve to physical violence and vehicular assault.
